The Collective Intelligence
Catalyst

Welcome to the Collective Intelligence Catalyst website

Here you will find ideas and inspiration to embark on a journey to become a Collective Intelligence Catalyst – an agent for change and a meeting facilitator who has the skills and competences to work effectively with any group and create the right conditions for collective intelligence to flourish.

When collective intelligence flourishes, creativity abounds and the group is more likely to come up with innovative solutions. As a Collective Intelligence Catalyst, you ensure an environment that is conducive to focused and constructive discussion and encourage people to contribute their input and ideas to achieve a clear outcome.

Over time, you foster a workplace where people can reach their full potential because the conditions are in place to learn from each other and grow together. A workplace where inclusion is intentional and diversity is truly valued. Each of us can contribute to building such an aspirational workplace, one step at a time. When you decide to become a Collective Intelligence Catalyst, you empower yourself to become equipped with what you need to get there.

The Leaf Methodology

The LEAF Methodology is a comprehensive approach that allows you to foster a culture of inclusion, creativity and innovation in the workplace and equips you with what you need to become a Collective Intelligence Catalyst. It is based on specific core values and beliefs which translate into observable attitudes and behaviours. These values, attitudes and behaviours are fundamental when you want to become an authentic and effective Collective Intelligence Catalyst. They are also crucial for the cultural change needed to create the aspirational workplace.

The Book

This book is the product of three years of hard work at the keyboard and more than fifteen years of practice working with groups of all sizes and shapes. We have written it for anyone in the workplace who wants accessible guidelines about how to become more skilful at working with a group or team of people towards a specific goal or outcome, to generate ideas and solve problems.

The main purpose is to accompany you, the reader, on the journey to becoming an effective Collective Intelligence Catalyst and to provide you with what you need to bring about a more inclusive workplace that capitalises upon diversity and the wisdom of groups. The tools and techniques in the book allow you to go beyond the obvious, tap into the collective intelligence of your participants and come up with better and more sustainable ideas and solutions.

The knowledge, information, skills, and insights of each individual brain combine with those of others, creating a form of superintelligence that has the potential to transcend individual limitations and solve problems that one person alone cannot solve, or would require much greater effort to address.

When changing a work culture is not science fiction

By Cristina Bianchi, 9 January 2026

What happens when you realise that the work you do no longer inspires you, and the people you do it for gradually lose your respect because their decisions go against what you strongly believe in? When the best possible customer service undoubtedly requires much more thought and attention than the sloppy and superficial work that your bosses ask you to produce?

Where do good ideas come from?

By Cristina Bianchi, 15 Dec 2025

In this highly connected, technologically-intensive world, there’s no question we can’t answer. We’re inundated with ideas. Marketing ideas, political ideas, strategic ideas, business ideas, ideas for spending our free time, and so on for every aspect of our lives. In the absence of inspiration, we can draw on endless sources of information to find ideas on how to address and manage any issue or challenge.
